1. AI Patient Chart Summary

Navigation: Patients > Chart > AI Chart Summary

Overview

Clinicians can now open a concise, read-only AI summary of the patient's chart and understand the patient's current status and relevant history without reviewing years of chart data. The summary is generated only from information already documented in the chart and is organized into structured, scannable sections. Clinicians can also ask questions about the chart in a conversational view.

Opening the Summary

  • AI Chart Summary button: Available on every patient screen, not only the Chart tab. It stays visible when a visit is opened (Open Visit) or when the user moves to any other patient tab.

  • Split view first: The summary opens in a split view beside the current screen, so the chart remains visible while the summary is read. The full-screen icon expands the panel, and the Close (X) icon exits it.

  • Generating state: While the summary is being prepared, the button reads Generating Summary...

  • Header: Shows the Last updated date and time, a Refresh button that regenerates the summary on demand, and a line listing the data included (for example, notes 12 months, lab results 12 months, active medications plus 12 months discontinued, and recent immunizations).

Summary Sections

Each section can be collapsed and includes an information icon (ⓘ) that shows where the content comes from. Items marked Critical or High within a section are highlighted in red.

Section What it shows
Patient Overview A high-level summary of the care context and documented conditions, based on notes from the last 12 months and the structured problem list.
Documented Problem List Structured problem list entries displayed exactly as recorded, with ICD code, status and entered date.
What Changed Since Last Summary Newly signed notes, medication changes, new referrals and new abnormal or critical labs since the previous summary.
Medications Summary Active medications and recently discontinued medications from the structured medication list.
Laboratory Summary Recent results and notable trends from structured lab results and lab documents.
Immunizations Summary Recently administered and relevant historical vaccines.
Preventive Care & EBDSI Status Completed and due preventive services and EBDSI indicators as currently recorded.
Notable Historical Context Older but clinically relevant information from notes up to 24 months old.

Where the chart shows a care coordination item, such as an expired referral on file, it is shown as a prompt together with the record it is based on. The user can open the record with View Source or remove the prompt with Dismiss.

Ask About the Chart

  • Type a question in the Ask anything... bar fixed at the bottom of the panel. The bar is disabled while a summary is still generating.

  • When a question is submitted, the summary sections are replaced by a conversation view. Follow-up questions keep the context of the conversation.

  • Each answer includes Copy, Good Response, Bad Response, and Try Again actions.

  • Answers are generated only from chart data and reference the underlying chart source. If the data is missing or ambiguous, the AI says so.

  • Back to AI Summary asks for confirmation before leaving. The conversation is not saved and is cleared when the user returns to the summary or closes the panel.
Note

The AI Chart Summary is clinician-facing and for reference only. It does not generate diagnoses, treatment recommendations, or clinical decision support, and it does not replace clinical judgment.

2. AI Document Summarizer – Documents and Fax Received

Navigation: Patients > Documents > Summarize Document | Reports > Fax Received

Overview

Patient documents can now be summarized by AI directly from the Document Viewer. The AI reads the document and organizes the key information into sections such as Labs, Medications, Vitals, Diagnoses, and Follow-up & Care Plan, so providers can see what matters without reading the whole document. The same summarizer is also available for faxes in Fax Received.

Summarizing a Document

  • Open a document from the Documents tab. The AI Assistant panel on the right of the Document Viewer shows the AI Document Summary card.

  • Click Summarize Document. Text is read from PDF documents, and image-based documents are read directly from the image.

  • Uploaded documents are supported: the text is read from the uploaded file and then summarized.

Summary Layout

The summary is shown in the AI Assistant panel under a heading for the document type, for example, AI Summary – Progress Notes.

Card Content
Patient & Visit Patient name, DOB, sex, date of service and provider, with the document's signed status and date.
Overview A short narrative of the document, such as the reason for the visit and the active medications.
Labs Test, Result, and Range for each lab found, with a count. If none are found, "No labs found in this document" is shown.
Medications, Vitals, Diagnoses The medications, vitals, and diagnoses recorded in the document.
Follow-up & Care Plan Follow-up instructions and care plan items from the document.

Saved Summaries

  • Once a document has been summarised, the summary is saved. Reopening the document shows the saved summary without summarising it again.

  • The AI Summary pill for the document in the Documents grid changes to a green Summarized state.

Fax Received

  • Clicking a Fax Received hyperlink opens the Document Viewer with the fax in the center, the Select Patient, Document Type, Case, and Pending Documents fields on the left, and the AI Assistant panel on the right.

  • The Summarize button gives the same AI summary as the Documents tab (Labs, Medications, Vitals, Diagnoses and Follow-up cards) in the side panel.

Note

The summary is AI-generated and requires clinician review before it is relied on.

3. CRM – Inbox and Multiple Signatures

Navigation: CRM > Inbox

Overview

A new CRM Inbox brings together the responses that come in from SMS and Email campaigns, so the team can see what needs attention, assign responses, and reply from one place. The reply composer now supports multiple signatures, so each user can reply with the right signature for the situation.

Inbox

Area What the user can do
KPIs See Needs reply, Unassigned, Waiting over 24h, and Median first reply at the top of the Inbox.
Responses grid Review responses with Contact, Message, Came from, Channel, Status, Assigned To, Received, and Actions columns.
Quick actions Reply to or assign a response directly from its row.
Search Search the responses.

Message Thread and Reply

  • Opening a response shows the full conversation thread, with the reply composer at the bottom.

  • The composer has a rich-text editor, Variables (for example Patient First Name, Patient Last Name and PayOnline) and Select Template.

  • The Details panel shows Status, Assigned to, Came from, Channel, Cc, and Received, with Open contact details and Create task actions.

  • The reply is sent with Send (or Ctrl + Enter), or discarded with Cancel.

Multiple Signatures

  • The signature icon in the composer toolbar opens the list of the user's saved signatures, for example, a full signature and a short front-desk signature.

  • Selecting a signature inserts it into the reply. The default signature is marked Default, and the toggle beside a signature sets it as the default.

  • New Signature at the bottom of the list creates another signature.

Edit Signature

The Edit Signature window lets the user set the signature name and its content in rich text, and tick Use as my default signature. Click Update to save the signature or Discard to close without saving. Only one signature can be the default, and it is used automatically in new replies.

4. Web KIOSK – QR Code Self Check-In

Navigation: Web KIOSK > QR Code Self Check-In

Overview

Practices can now offer walk-in self check-in through a QR code. Patients scan the practice's QR code to open the Web KIOSK and check themselves in, and the checked-in patient appears under Patients In Office for the front desk.

Check-In Options

After scanning the QR code, the patient can check in using any of the following options:

Option Use
Access Code Check in with an access code.
Patient Portal Check in using Patient Portal credentials.
New Patient Check in as a patient who is new to the practice.
Patient Search Find the patient's existing record and check in.

How the QR Code Is Set Up

  • Each practice's QR code is generated by the PracticeEHR team against a Default Provider, Default Location, and Default Resource for the practice.

  • Patients checked in through the QR code are scheduled under the default resource, not the provider. This is the expected behavior for QR check-in.
Note

The QR code depends on its default resource. If that resource is deleted, or the practice is moved to a different database, the existing QR code stops working, and a new QR code needs to be generated. Please contact support to request one.

5. Open Visit – Assessment: Problem List and Today's Assessment Display

Navigation: Patients > Open Visit > Assessment

Overview

The Problem List and Today's Assessment grids in the Assessment section of the new UI now make proper use of the available screen space. Previously, on some screen resolutions, only one entry was visible at a time in each grid, which made it difficult to review the patient's diagnoses.

What Has Changed

  • Problem List: Multiple entries are now visible at once, and all added ICD / diagnosis codes can be reached by scrolling.

  • Today's Assessment: Multiple entries are now displayed properly.

  • Responsive layout: The grids adjust to the user's screen resolution and scroll where the entries exceed the available space.

6. Scheduling – Today Button Repositioned

Navigation: Scheduling > Calendar

Overview

The Today button on the Scheduling calendar has moved up to sit beside the month and year, above the mini calendar, as in the design. Front desk users can now find it straight away.

7. Macros in Start Visit

Navigation: New Visit > Macros

Overview

The Macro field is now available on the Start Visit screen, allowing users to select previously created macros from a dropdown before starting a visit.

Previously, users had to open the visit first and then add macros from within the visit. With this enhancement, users can select the required macros in advance, reducing additional steps and making the visit documentation process faster and more efficient.

Benefits

  • Saves time by allowing users to select macros before starting a visit.

  • Reduces the need to navigate within the visit to add macros.

  • Improves workflow efficiency and simplifies visit preparation.

  • Helps users prepare the visit with the required macros from the beginning.

8. Last Procedure Dates Card in Patient Chart

Overview

A new Last Procedure Dates card has been introduced in the Patient Chart to help podiatry providers and staff quickly identify when specific procedures or supplies were last billed for a patient.

The card displays the last billed date and the corresponding CPT/HCPCS code for each configured group, making it easier for staff to verify payer frequency limitations and determine when a patient may be eligible for a procedure or supply again.

By default, the card includes five groups:

  • Nail and Calluses

  • Orthotics Dispensed

  • Shoes Dispensed

  • Compression Stockings Dispensed

  • Ankle Support

If a patient has never had a procedure or supply from a particular group billed, the card displays Not Done.

Practice-Level Customization

Practice administrators can customize the card using the settings available through the gear icon. They can:

  • Show or hide procedure groups.

  • Rename and reorder groups.

  • Add or remove custom groups.

  • Add, remove, or update CPT/HCPCS codes using code or description search.

  • Restore the five default groups at any time.

These settings apply across all patients within the practice.

Benefits

  • Provides quick visibility into patients' procedure and supply history.

  • Reduces manual searches through patient billing history.

  • Helps staff verify payer frequency limitations before billing.

  • Allows practices to configure the displayed procedures and supplies based on their requirements.
